Implema recently attended SAP Business Unleashed – a global event for SAP customers and partners where SAP presents its latest innovations, strategies, and future plans for business systems and technology. Johan Berg, Business Development Manager SAP at Implema, was there and shares his insights about the key updates.
Hello there, Johan Berg, you were recently at SAP Business Unleashed – what’s the most exciting takeaway for you?
It was truly an exciting presentation with many updates. One of the biggest was clearly the launch of SAP Business Data Cloud – a platform that collects, structures, and makes business data more accessible for analysis and AI-driven insights. This will transform how SAP’s customers handle and analyze their data. With this platform, customers get automated access to consumable business data from their SAP applications. The data is structured in SAP Business Data Fabric, making it easy to analyze and process in an open architecture.
What Does this Mean Practically for Companies Using SAP?
It means several things. First, it becomes much easier to get a unified and comprehensible overview of business data. SAP has also simultaneously launched a partnership with Databricks, which enables easier integration with data outside SAP systems. This allows companies to work more dynamically with their data, regardless of its source.
Another major change is that SAP Business Warehouse is now included in SAP Business Data Cloud, allowing companies to build on their previous investments. Additionally, SAP is introducing consumption-based pricing, giving companies more flexibility in how they use services like SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAC Planning, and Databricks.
How Does this Affect SAP’s AI Development?
This is an incredibly important part! SAP Business Data Cloud creates a common and harmonized foundation for both current and upcoming AI functions. SAP already has embedded AI in its solutions, but this platform will accelerate the development of their AI pilot Joule and Joule Agents.
By eliminating data silos, Joule and Joule Agents can access a unified data model with the company’s business data. This means AI can be used at an entirely new level for transaction handling, advanced analysis, and process optimization.
How Do You See Implema’s Role in this?
Implema is well-equipped to help our customers take advantage of these new opportunities. SAP S/4HANA Cloud ERP and Business Technology Platform continue to be important parts of SAP’s ecosystem, but now customers can gradually complement their systems with more cloud services and AI solutions.
As Sweden’s largest SAP partner, we have the expertise required to guide companies through this transformation. Additionally, we have documented delivery capabilities in Databricks, which is a major advantage now that SAP and Databricks are forming closer ties.
So, in Summary, What Does this Mean for the Future?
It means that SAP’s customers get an even stronger and more flexible platform for analysis, decision-making, and AI development. With SAP Business Data Cloud, companies can make faster, smarter, and more data-driven decisions. This is a really exciting time – and we at Implema look forward to helping our customers fully utilize these opportunities!
