WirelessCar is a world leader in software development for connected cars. In 20 years, the Gothenburg-based company has grown from a small entrepreneurial company started by Ericsson, Telia, and Volvo Group to over 700 employees and a world leader in its field. Today, it is 100% owned by Volkswagen and operates in 105 markets. In addition to Gothenburg, they have offices in China, the USA, and Germany.

Looking for a Long-Term Partner

The collaboration with Implema was initiated in the spring of 2022. WirelessCar had previously implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors. They had recently implemented SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) in 2021, but hadn’t quite gotten it to work as they wanted. For various reasons, they had realized that they would have to change suppliers.

The partnership with Implema began in spring 2022. WirelessCar had already implemented SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors. In 2021, they had rolled out SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), but it hadn’t lived up to expectations. For several reasons, it became clear that they needed to change vendors. , says Anna Gunlycke, Head of Talent Strategy at WirelessCar.

On the recommendation of industry contacts, WirelessCar reached out to Implema.

Solving Longstanding Challenges

From the very first meeting, Implema stood out as a strong match. Once consultant Christian Ekelund began working with the SAC platform, progress came quickly.

“It was clear right away that Implema made a real effort to understand our needs through dialogue and thoughtful questions. They focused on gaining insight into our business to be able to recommend the most effective solutions for our future growth. It was incredible to realize that there were actual answers to challenges we had been struggling with for years.” , says Anna.


Rapid Growth Demands Structure and Processes

One of Implema’s early assignments was to support WirelessCar in managing its rapid expansion. Today, nearly 12 million vehicles around the world are connected through their solutions, and every minute they process around 700,000 messages from users globally.

Over the past decade, we’ve grown very quickly—20 to 30% annually in recent years , says Patrik Nilsson, Line Manager at Program House, WirelessCar.. We’ve become a market leader through entirely organic growth, expanding alongside our customers. Our largest clients include Volkswagen, Volvo Cars, Jaguar Land Rover, and Subaru. .

The high growth rate that WirelessCar is experiencing requires structure and processes, not least around the financial flows. Something they have now sorted out together with Implema.
