ERP News.
In the latest updates from SAP ERP (S/4HANA Cloud), a range of innovations are introduced aimed at improving efficiency, user experience, and sustainability. The key updates include:
- Generative AI and Automation: New AI-assisted features have been introduced in various ERP processes. For example, automated financial reconciliation and intelligent project management, which streamline workflows and reduce manual work.
- Sustainability Integration: Companies can now report CO2 emissions in their financial planning, providing insights into environmental impact during strategic decisions.
- Industry-Specific Improvements: New features tailored for manufacturing and service-focused companies. Such as improved integration for demand planning and better management of third-party orders (TPOP), increasing operational efficiency.
- Global Reach and Localization: With extended support for new countries (e.g., Kuwait, Kazakhstan), SAP now enhances its ERP solution’s compliance, i.e., adherence to local regulations, helping global companies better adapt their operations.
- Subscription and Solution Selling: SAP’s tools for subscription-based business models are now more seamlessly integrated and support advanced order management and profitability analysis.
Increased Use of the Innovation Platform BTP
The spread and use of SAP’s innovation platform Business Technology Platform (BTP) is now rapidly increasing. At the same time, SAP’s services for customer-specific innovation, AI, integration, and Analytics are growing quickly and are expected to constitute a significant part of SAP’s offerings in a few years.
It is particularly interesting to note how quickly and comprehensively SAP is now establishing support for various types of AI solutions. SAP has by now managed to integrate more than 25 models into its generative AI Hub, which can be used by partners to develop relevant AI support in their customers’ business processes and analytics. By adding generative AI to its already proven strong capabilities in areas such as integration, architecture, business processes, and security, SAP can now offer a combined value that is hard to beat.
Successful Cloud Strategy
Finally, we can note that SAP’s cloud strategy appears successful. In the latest quarterly report (for Q3 2024), cloud revenues now constitute almost 50% of SAP’s revenue. This indicates a strong pace of change and that they are gaining success and trust with their customers.
